Located between 49th and 52nd street and fifth to seventh avenue, The Rockefeller Center is an awe-inspiring property with 19 commercial buildings spread over 11 acres of prime midtown Manhattan.

The land on which Rockefeller center stands today was once a residential area with theaters and tenements. John D. Rockefeller leased the land for Columbia University in 1928 with a vision of building a commercial area with majestic buildings and towers. The depression of 1929 was a setback to his plans but he didn't give up. By late 1929 he had used the services of 3 architectural and consulting firms to plan the construction of his mega-vision.
30 Rockefeller Plaza stands out even today as a marvel of man's will to create something bigger than himself/herself. The building stands tall just like its founder at 70 stories. It is the first built and largest building in the Rockefeller Center and is testimony to the willpower and vision of its founder. Completed in 1934, this building stands even today as one of the tallest buildings in the area.

The Rockefeller Arcade is the most popular part of the center. As you enter the Arcade on Fifth Avenue between 49th and 50th streets, you come to the famous Winter Skating rink. The Statue of Prometheus stands tall at 8 feet weighing 8 tons making it a spectacular visual marvel. This statue designed by Paul Manship is bronze gilded and the ring supporting it bears the signs of the Cosmos.

Further inside the arcade are the flags of countries across religion, color and continent. The Rockefeller center is home to some of the best art seen in New York, the most famous being, and the statue of Atlas by Lee Lowrie and Rene Chambellan.
The Rockefeller Plaza is home to the NBC studio on 49th street with Katie Couric & Matt Lauer hosting the show every day of the week. The Center is home to numerous restaurants and bars including the H&M to Morell's Wine Bar will make you feel absolutely at home in this luxury.
The Rainbow Room on the 65th floor of the Rockefeller center is a fabulous spot for fine dining and is the haunt for the rich and famous. Some of the biggest corporates like GE, Time Warner have offices in the Rockefeller Center.
